The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t been as dominant as usual this season. While they have been better than their record reflects, they’re still trailing in the AFC West.

That’s not a position they’re used to. In addition, all four of their losses have been by one score, and that’s a situation they used to thrive in. Despite that, defensive tackle Chris Jones recently shut down concerns about the Chiefs.

“We’re exactly where we need to be right now. We’ve got the team to do it. 1-0 every week, and we’ll be where we need to be at the end of the season. No need to panic,” Jones said.

Notably, Jones has been singled out for poor play multiple times this season. He’s making a lot of money, but the effort hasn’t always seemed to be there.

That being said, it’s also worth noting that the Chiefs have caught some unlucky breaks and have had some significant injuries. They’ve lost games they would’ve won 99 times out of 100.

Things don’t get much easier for them coming out of the bye week. They have a tough trip to face the division-leading Denver Broncos in Week 11.

The Broncos lead the league in total sacks, sacks per game, and sack percentage. That will make the return of starting left tackle Josh Simmons vital for Kansas City.

The Chiefs are coming off a loss to the Buffalo Bills, and they clearly needed that time off. Now, they’re about to embark on the most crucial stretch of the campaign, and getting things started on the right foot with a win against one of the best teams in the league will be the best way to make a statement.
