The Denver Broncos seemed to find a star in the making in Bo Nix. Last season, the quarterback was a strong candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year and helped the team reach the playoffs for the first time under head coach Sean Payton.

However, Nix is looking like another victim of the “sophomore slump.” He hasn’t been as good in his second NFL season, and while his team is still winning, he’s held them back at times.

With the doubts about him becoming more noticeable, Nix recently revealed how he handles criticism on social media.

“I delete all my social media, I don’t have it, so unless somebody says it to my face I don’t really hear it, and nobody is ever bold enough to say it to your face. I don’t get on social media,” Nix said.

That’s a good approach for any professional athlete. Not all of them take it, but it might be for the best.

Nix has shown he has the potential to play at a high level. That being said, the Broncos’ scheme might not be suited to his skills.

He’s looked much better in an up-tempo offense, and he’s usually more accurate in the two-minute drill. Payton’s slow-paced, run-heavy offense is the opposite of that.

Yet, all that matters is that the Broncos continue to win games. Whether they’re doing so despite their quarterback hasn’t become a major issue so far.

The Broncos need to make sure to help Nix find his rhythm again. Otherwise, he could be the reason they don’t find postseason success.
