The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their Thursday injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 11 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Per the team, three players failed to practice today: CB Darius Slay (concussion), EDGE Alex Highsmith (pec), and CB Cory Trice Jr. (hamstring/knee). All three did not practice Wednesday either.
Limited today were ILB Cole Holcomb (illness), OT Broderick Jones (groin), OG Isaac Seumalo (pec), and DL Cam Heyward (rest).
Working fully were WR Scotty Miller (finger), SS Jabrill Peppers (quad), TE Jonnu Smith, and EDGE T.J. Watt. Smith and Watt were rested yesterday.

Largely, Pittsburgh is moving in the right direction for Sunday’s game. Peppers and Miller are likely to be available, though their roles could be minor since they are down the depth chart. Both missed the past two games due to their injuries. Miller’s broken finger required surgery.
Seumalo continues trending toward a Week 11 return after missing last Sunday with a pectoral strain. If he can’t play, Spencer Anderson will get the bulk of the left guard snaps. However, Anderson continued his role as the sixth offensive lineman against the Los Angeles Chargers with Andrus Peat playing left guard in those moments. NFL rules require Anderson to come out for the ensuing snap after reporting eligible.
Highsmith has missed back-to-back days and his chances of missing this weekend have increased. His status on Friday’s final report will be key. Highsmith has recorded two sacks in back-to-back games, the first Steeler to do so since Cam Heyward in 2017. It’s something not even T.J. Watt has done in his career. If Highsmith can’t play, Nick Herbig will start in his place.
Jones told reporters his groin injury is related to the one he suffered during the first week of training camp. Decreased reps led to his “limited” tag but it seems like he’ll start Sunday. If not, or if Jones is unable to finish the game, Calvin Anderson will replace him. He’s yet to log an offensive snap this season.
Broderick Jones said the groin injury, which appeared on yesterday's practice report, is the same thing that bothered him during training camp.
He described it as a "minor tweak" and said he participated in everything he'd normally do at today's practice, but decreased his reps

Slay looks unlikely to play. He suffered a concussion after SS Kyle Dugger collided into him while making a tackle last weekend and was quickly ruled out of the rest of the game. He failed to practice yesterday and has to pass through the multi-step concussion protocol process. That includes returning to practice followed by more baseline testing. The fact Slay hasn’t gotten back on the field makes him a longshot to suit up against the Bengals. With Jalen Ramsey remaining at safety for a third-straight game, Joey Porter Jr., Brandin Echols, and James Pierre will serve as the team’s starting cornerbacks.
Today marked Holcomb’s first practice in more than two weeks. Now, he’ll try to get healthy enough to be cleared for the weekend. If not, Malik Harrison will see third-inside linebacker snaps.
Watt, Heyward, and Smith received Wednesday rest days and will suit up against the Bengals.
Trice is the only Steeler whose to-return window is open. But he hasn’t practiced since suffering a knee injury in his second day back. His window closes next Wednesday, and it seems likely he will remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season. Others on injured reserve — DL Isaiahh Loudermilk, QB Skylar Thompson, and CB Donte Kent — have not had their windows opened.
Pittsburgh and Cincinnati kick off Sunday at 1 PM/EST.
