**Luis Guilherme looks likely to leave West Ham in the January transfer window, according to reports**.
The 19-year-old, who moved to Stratford from Brazilian side Palmeiras in June 2024, has struggled to settle under three different managers in East London.
There was initial excitement among West Ham fans when the Irons acquired the Brazilian winger, who was a teammate of electric attackers Endrick and — the latter has looked particularly impressive for Chelsea this campaign.
However, Guilherme has struggled to make an impact for a West Ham side that has often looked toothless in attack. The teenager has featured for just 192 minutes of league football since his move — a surprising figure, considering he cost the Hammers €23 million.
Admittedly, if he wasn’t deemed ready for first-team appearances, Guilherme should have been given key responsibilities with the Irons’ prosperous youth side, or alternatively, loaned out to a Championship club this summer.
There are obvious strengths to the young Brazilian’s game — he exudes energy and glides past players with ease — but his positional play and decision-making leave a lot to be desired, as is understandable at his age.
Boss Nuno Espírito Santo doesn’t seem keen on the youngster, recently opting to play full-back Kyle Walker-Peters as a makeshift winger rather than using the Brazilian when making substitutions.
The Englishman’s impressive performances — including his goal against Burnley — may further strengthen his case to get the nod over Guilherme when deputising for Crysencio Summerville on the Irons’ left flank.
Guilherme hasn’t exactly impressed on the pitch, but he hasn’t been given sufficient time either. To let him go would be a disappointment and further proof that the 2024 summer window was, in truth, a disastrous one for the Hammers. However, it seems as though his time in a West Ham shirt may already be coming to an end.
