NFL Fans Upset Over Latest Chiefs Development Ahead of Broncos Game

The Kansas City Chiefs (5-4) are coming off their bye week following a 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills and currently sit third in the AFC West, behind the Los Angeles Chargers (7-3) and the Denver Broncos (8-2), whom they'll face at 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday.

However, ahead of the matchup, an interesting development emerged: the Chiefs have unexpectedly climbed to the top spot as the favorites to win this year's Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, surpassing the previous favorite and reigning champion, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kansas City is currently listed at +600, while the Eagles sit at +650. Behind them are the Los Angeles Rams (+750), Detroit Lions (+800), Seattle Seahawks (+950), and Buffalo Bills (+950).

NFL fans were quick to react to the Chiefs being named Super Bowl favorites.

“Only the Chiefs could be 5-4 coming off a loss with everyone healthy and about to play the conference leading/division foe Broncos and STILL be favored sheesh,” a fan said.

Someone else added: “Kay, they’ll be lucky to make the playoffs after they lose to the Broncos this weekend.”

Another person wrote: “Stupid they might not even make the playoffs.”

“How is that possible? They're nowhere close to where they were just a few years ago,” one more fan commented.

The Chiefs certainly have the most experience of any team currently in the AFC playoff picture-and arguably the NFL-since selecting Patrick Mahomes in 2017. They've reached the AFC Championship Game every season he's been the starter, appeared in five Super Bowls (winning three), and most recently played in last season's Super Bowl, falling to the Eagles.

While Kansas City sits just one game above .500 and still has plenty to fix, they'll be a serious threat in the postseason-especially if they end up hosting at Arrowhead Stadium.

Only two quarterbacks have managed to beat Mahomes and the Chiefs at home in the playoffs: Tom Brady, now retired, and Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow.
