Eagles legend Jason Kelce made his feelings known on the A.J. Brown saga

There isn't much that can be said about the current A.J. Brown saga that isn't already well-documented. The Philadelphia Eagles won in Week 10 against a strong Green Bay Packers team, but their star wide receiver is making it clear how frustrated he is with his current usage.

To an extent, this is understandable, as the team averaged 33.0 points per game in their previous two contests, and Brown caught 10 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in those games. On Monday Night Football, he caught just two passes for 13 yards, and Philadelphia chipped in just 10 points.

While correlation doesn't always equal causation, it does not take a genius to see that the Eagles' offense is better when Brown touches the ball. That, however, doesn't mean that Brown needs to tell his fantasy football managers to drop him, or refer to his current situation as a "(expletive) show."

Jason Kelce is proving that cooler heads will prevail in AJ Brown drama

However, quarterback Jalen Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni both had perfect responses to the drama, and hopefully, that will help lower the temperature quite a bit. Eagles legend Jason Kelce also hopped on Sports Radio 94 WIP and made his feelings known about the latest saga involving Brown.

"It's not as big a deal as the media is making it to be. I think that there's frustrations. I think that, in the game of football, there's constantly frustrations building up within teams, within position groups, within coaches and players," Kelce said. "I think it is being made a bigger deal than it actually is. It is, at this point, it's been a distraction, right? I think that's very true. ... There's no question (that Brown creates this distraction)."

Two things can be true: the media is amplifying this situation, and Brown clearly started it. Obviously, he needs more than two touches and three targets for the Eagles to win most games, but it is his complaining after a triumphant primetime win that is rubbing fans the wrong way.

Kelce did go on to mention that, while Brown is the one making these comments and the media is, perhaps, getting a bit out of hand with them, turmoil like this is not unusual. And it doesn't preclude the Eagles from still having success.

"This is magnified, obviously, A.J. is the one who is making these comments, which is causing these pots to be stirred and creating this whole thing happening. But I think that, obviously, they had this all happening last year. And everything turned out pretty darn good," Kelce said. "I think that vocalizing this stuff every once in a while is important because it keeps people accountable. I like doing it more in-house, but sometimes, A.J., I think just his personality, he lets this out in a more open way, or does it in a way that is more public-facing."

This is an incredible point for Kelce to make, as it goes without saying that these issues are already being dealt with in-house. There is not a single person in the locker room or the building who doesn't know Brown needs the ball more, and who doesn't know that Brown wants the ball more.

Ultimately, the fallout from this has been external noise. The real issues and the pathway out of this are being discussed behind closed doors. Kelce finished by attempting to hold Brown accountable for continuing to discuss it, but also gave Brown and the team flowers.

"Once it's already been stated, I mean, they're trying to get him the ball. So at this point, it's like, okay, what are we gaining from continually talking about this?" Kelce asked. "A.J., I think, knows that, and I think he's just frustrated, and he's a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve. But I'll say this: he's a very well-liked person in that building, he was a great teammate in my time there, I understand his frustrations. ... (Wide receiver) is a very frustrating position to play, at times. All in all, none of this makes me think any less of A.J. as a teammate. I think very highly of him, and I think very highly of him as a player, and I think that, ultimately, the Eagles will be very good moving forward."

Eagles fans are definitely clinging to the last part of Kelce's statement, as they are hoping that this blip of drama flatlines rather quickly. The Detroit Lions are on the docket in just a matter of days, and the best cure for this saga would be a win with a heavy dose of A.J. Brown.
