Kansas City Chiefs haters have probably thoroughly enjoyed the first 10 weeks of the 2025 NFL regular season. That's because the Chiefs are at an underwhelming 5-4 and, if the season ended today, the playoffs would kick off without them in it. Considering the Chiefs haven't missed the playoffs since 2014, that'd be pretty massive if things played out that way by season's end.
The bad news for the rest of the NFL, however, is that there's still plenty of football left to be played this season. That means there's more than enough time for the Chiefs to climb their way not only back into the playoff picture but into the AFC West division title picture and, yes, the number one overall seed picture. Wild, right?
Most people will probably count the Chiefs out in capturing the number one seed in the AFC due to the four losses they've already amassed and the tough games they still have on their schedule. Ali Bhanpari of _NFL.com_ is not one of those people.
Bhanpari [predicted the results of every AFC team's remaining schedule](https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-picks-2025-midseason-afc-playoffs-predictions-every-game) at the halfway point of the season and, not only does he have them winning out the rest of the way, but he has the Chiefs ending up with the number one seed in the AFC playoffs. That is pure nightmare fuel for the other 15 teams in the AFC.
NFL writer’s hot take just gave Chiefs fans more ammo for haters

If Bhanpari's prediction panned out, the Chiefs would finish with a 13-4 record and would end up capturing the number one seed in the AFC playoffs. This is the last thing the other AFC teams want to see happen, especially since this year's AFC slate looks to be completely shaken up this year.
The Broncos, Colts, and Patriots are leading their respective divisions, meaning the Bills and Chiefs, at best, would be a wild card team right now. The Ravens aren't even in the playoff picture as of this writing either. It looks to be a changing of the guard at top but Bhanpari clearly is saying, 'Not so fast' there.
The Chiefs could absolutely finish the 2025 season winning eight straight games. No one would be surprised by that whatsoever, given this team's history of figuring things out down the stretch.
On the flip side though, they've struggled against tougher teams this year and have beat up on inferior teams or teams dealing with injuries. K.C. has two games against the Broncos remaining on its schedule and what should be a tough matchup against the Colts. The Chiefs also have a rematch against the Chargers later in the year. Bhanpari has them winning all four of those, and their other four games on the schedule.
This would be quite the comeback from the Chiefs but would it really surprise anyone if it panned out this way? Let's hope Bhanpari is right and Chiefs Kingdom can look forward to yet another number one seed for their team entering the playoffs.
