‘Gutty, gritty win’ — Warriors fans react to Steph Curry’s dominance in big win over Spurs

The Golden State Warriors had arguably their best win of the season on Wednesday night, overcoming a very slow start to [beat the red-hot San Antonio Spurs 125-120](/warriors-analysis/105082/warriors-leaders-step-up-big-time-in-125-120-victory-over-spurs). That’s impressive enough as is, but even more impressive when you realize that the Dubs were on the road, on the second game of a back-to-back, and mostly without Jonathan Kuminga, who was questionable with knee soreness and left the game in the second quarter.

It’s always fun to see how fans react to a game, especially impressive ones. So here are the live reactions from the game, as taken from the _Golden State of Mind_ [game thread comment section](/warriors-game-previews/105021/how-to-watch-warriors-vs-spurs#comments).

It was a dreadful start to the game, as the Warriors debuted a new starting lineup. They lived almost exclusively on the perimeter against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs potent defense, but shot just 4-for-18 from distance in the frame. They trailed 28-14 after one.

The second quarter was much better, but it took a while to get started. The Dubs stayed cold, until Moses Moody rattled off a big run, followed by Steph Curry. But the Spurs, led by Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, had answers, and still led 56-59 at the break.

The third was all about Curry, as he caught fire, dropping in 22 points in the frame en route to a game-high 46 points. The Warriors erased the deficit and built up a double-digit lead of their own, and took a 92-84 advantage into the final frame.

The Dubs didn’t exactly coast to victory in the fourth, but their lead never really felt in danger. They closed out the game without ever letting the Spurs tie or retake the lead.
