Bucks share heartfelt postgame moment with Pat Connaughton after loss to Hornets

Without Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the charge, theMilwaukee Bucks fell prey to the Charlotte Hornets on the road on Wednesday, 111-100. Despite the loss, some Milwaukee players were seen having a happy moment following the game, and for a good reason — they saw their old friend back.

Veteran forward Pat Connaughton, who now plays for the Hornets, reunited with some of his former Milwaukee teammates following Charlotte’s victory.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo, AJ Green and Ryan Rollins were among those who dapped up with Connaughton. Even head coach Doc Rivers hugged Connaughton.

It was just a nice thing to see, especially for Bucks fans, who watched Connaughton don the team’s colors for a long time before Milwaukee traded him in the summer to the Hornets along with a 2031 second-rounder in exchange for a 2032 second-rounder and Vasilije Micic.

Connaughton suited up for seven years with the Bucks and helped them win an NBA title in 2021. In 440 games with Milwaukee, including 66 starts, he averaged 6.8 points and 4.0 rebounds, while also helping stretch the floor for Giannis with his outside shooting.

In the win over Milwaukee, Connaughton, who will turn 33 years old in January, scored 11 points with two 3-pointers in just 11 minutes of action off the bench. He can expect a bigger reception this Friday, when the Hornets play Milwaukee at his old stomping grounds at Fiserv Forum.
