Spain goalkeeper showers heavy praise on Real Madrid veteran – ‘Undoubtedly the best’

Kylian Mbappe starred in France’s win over Ukraine last night, scoring yet another brace and thus hitting a staggering 400 career goals at just 26 years of age.

The performance saw him continue the stunning run of form he has been in all season, barring the team’s last two games that ended in disappointing results.

A lot has been said about the dressing room politics and faith in Xabi Alonso after the defeat to Liverpool and the draw at Vallecas, and Mbappe weighed in on the same after the game.

Mbappe’s thoughts on dressing room turbulence

Speaking to COPE after France’s win over Ukraine, the Real Madrid talisman supported Alonso amid the ongoing crisis.

“What do you want me to say? I have nothing to say,” he began modestly.

“When at Real Madrid you don’t win games, people talk a lot and we haven’t won the last two.

“We have played very badly, but we will return after the break prepared to beat Elche,” he added.

He then went on to back the manager, stating how the team were doing well in all competitions irrespective of the recent results, and how they were on the right path.

“In the end, we are the first in La Liga and we are among the top 8 in the Champions League.

“It’s not perfect, but we all know that when some things don’t work in the field, people talk and talk.”

He then reaffirmed the dressing room’s determination to bring home silverware this season, saying, “We are united to win all the titles this year.”

Finally, Mbappe was asked to speak on his accomplishment of becoming the youngest player of the century to hit 400 goals.

“400 career goals? 400 goals don’t impress people. I want to make my mark in football history, so I have to score at least 400 more.”

“There is one with 950+ goals, and another with 900+, 400 isn’t enough to stay in the circle of players who shock people,” he added, showing elite mentality.
