But she would rather talk about the qualities needed to lift what she sees as an under-performing season so far in terms of points, if not performances.
The Seagulls are back at the Amex on Sunday and could do with a win as they face Leicester in the WSL.
A very late equaliser at bottom side Liverpool last week gave them their only point in the last four league games.
The fact the three defeats have all come by the odd goal, and two of them were to Arsenal and Manchester United, adds weight to Cankovic’s point that they are under-achieving in terms of results more than performances.
But they ARE coming up a bit short at the moment and win over Leicester can help put that right.
Cankovic said: “It is under-achieving, if you see the results.
“We could have come up with more and, I think, it's certain points we should have done better.
“There’s also a lot of positives to take out. And it's a long way to go and there's still a lot of games, so hopefully we can turn things around.
“At the end it comes to picking up points, scoring goals and not conceding.
“I think there was a lot of actually a lot of things that we do good, but then it's execution.
“It's in both boxes, I would say. Maybe sometimes we could have just done better.
“But also just maybe controlled the games a bit more. It will come.
“I think we are close. I'm confident that like result wise we'll turn it around because it will come.
“I think it's also experience, how to handle like all the situations. But it's a process and I think it will come because we have quality.”
Cankovic adds a lot of that quality in midfield – with goal of the season last year but also some nice little passes and technical details.
The Serbia international is also a bundle of energy with her distinctive, spring-heeled running.
She added: “We have numbers (for distance covered), but I can’t share them!
“That's the thing that like, for me, I don't even want to mention because that's a thing you need to do.
“We work hard and we work hard on a daily basis.
“You cannot be at the top if you don't work hard.
“But then you go into other details, and that's like maturing and being more clinical in both boxes.”
Cankovic had two seasons at Chelsea before joining the Seagulls and is clear on what tempted her to Sussex.
She said: “I think the style of play because, to get results, you need to play good.
“Yes, you can get lucky maybe once or twice a season and get results with playing bad.
“But I think you need to have a system and that's what I like.
“Also the values of the club. And then that we're bringing in a style of play with Dario (Vidosic, head coach) that is really something that I like and I think it fits me.
“Then, of course, we also this year brought in some quality players.
“So I think it will all come together at some point.”
