Jurgen Klopp has had quite the year since stepping into his role as Global Head of Soccer for the Red Bull group.
After leaving Liverpool at the end of last season, the 58-year-old German took charge as Global Head of Soccer for the Red Bull group, overseeing football operations across RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Salzburg. Unsurprisingly, he’s wasted little time leaving his mark.
But Klopp’s work isn’t limited to administrative or strategic roles abroad. Back home in Liverpool, he and his son Marc are pushing forward with an exciting personal project: the creation of a new padel sports hub called “Klopp’s Padel FC.”
The first UK site is planned for Wavertree Sports Park, right in the heart of Liverpool, marking another return of sorts for the beloved former Reds manager.
However, it looks like the Liverpool legend still has time he wants to fill.
Taking to Instagram, Jurgen Klopp has now officially confirmed that he will be returning to the football pitch – but this time as a pundit.
He will be a pundit at MagentaTV (associated with T-Mobile) for the upcoming World Cup 2026 in Mexico, Canada, and the USA.
Bayern Munich legend and World Cup winner Thomas Muller will be joining the former Liverpool boss.
“Jurgen Klopp embodies passion and enthusiasm for football in its purest form. That’s why it’s great that he decided to join us to work as a TV expert again,” says Arnim Butzen, Head of TV at Deutsche Telekom.
“His deep understanding of the game, his fire in analysis and his humor make him unique. At MagentaTV, we offer viewers the best expertise and good entertainment around the clock with an outstanding variety of content.”
“And the expert combination of Thomas Müller and Jürgen Klopp is already world champion.”
Jürgen Klopp himself is looking forward to his role as a TV pundit: “I really want to experience this World Cup again from the experts’ perspective. At the same time, I know that this marathon tournament will offer its own challenges. At MagentaTV, we want to inspire people with the right mix of football expertise and entertainment and always be close to the action.”
