Chelsea youngster scores impressive hat-trick in 23 minutes for his country

The future of Chelsea remains bright, and a number of their young players are currently off representing their countries at youth level.

Reggie Walsh and Chizaram Ezenwata are starring at the U17 World Cup, with the England youth setup benefitting from the quality of Chelsea’s youngsters.

Josh Acheampong, Tyrique George and Jamie Gittens are all likely to play a key role in the U21s European Qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Slovakia.

While some U17s feature at the World Cup, another England U17 side have been in action during this international break, winning the first game of their November camp 5-2 against USA.

Chelsea’s Mathis Eboue scores 23-minute hat-trick for England U17s

The Young Lions took a while to get going, however it was Chelsea youngster Mathis Eboue who scored the important goals in the second half.

The attacking midfielder netted a hat-trick within 23 second half minutes, delivering the standout performance of those seen as the future of the nation.

Fellow young Blue Calvin Diakite also featured off the bench, however it was Eboue who stole the headlines from a big win for Liam Bramley’s side.

Eboue rejected a move to Arsenal in favour of featuring for the Blues, and will surely not be regretting his decision to select West London as the place to develop his skills.

Mathis Eboue’s 25/26 campaign so far

After joining Chelsea in January, Eboue has enjoyed a 2025/26 campaign that has seen him be a regular in the U18 Premier League.

The 16-year-old has two goals in seven games so far this season, despite playing two years above his age.

It remains to be seen if Eboue is eligible to feature for the Blues in the ‘Messi Cup’ next month, an Under 16 tournament involving some of the best academies in world football.

The chance is there for some of Cobham’s brightest stars to prove themselves on the world stage, and also send a message to Enzo Maresca that they should be considered for first team opportunities in the near future.
