Attempt on cards to loan Nottingham Forest player – Difficult decision over new arrival

VfB Stuttgart are eyeing up a loan deal for Nottingham Forest striker Arnaud Kalimuendo in the January transfer window.

That’s according to BILD Nuremberg. They report that Stuttgart have made finding a replacement for Nick Woltemade a priority.

He left the club in the summer to join Newcastle, and they were initially covered with Deniz Undav and Ermedin Demirovic. But they were both injured and Stuttgart have been left with an ‘acute personnel crisis’.

While Undav is now fit and scoring and Demirovic should return in three to four weeks, there is a feeling a further addition is needed.

Manager Sebastian Hoeneß has even admitted he’d like an addition. He said in a BILD interview a month ago, “we all saw the need to sign a replacement for Nick.” Sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth intends to try and add if he can.

And BILD report that Nottingham Forest flop Kalimuendo is on their list of potential options. This has also been reported by Sky in Germany. Stuttgart, though, don’t want a permanent transfer.

BILD, say they don’t have as much money as they did in the summer for January. That’s despite Woltemade’s big move to Newcastle and their failure to sign a replacement in the summer.

So, instead, they’re only considering a loan move for the Nottingham Forest forward. Whether that’s something Sean Dyche’s side will even consider, remains to be seen.
