A new era at Celtic will begin shortly.
As of this moment, Martin O’Neill is holding the fort for Celtic, as the powers that be look for Brendan Rodgers’ long-term successor.
Wilfried Nancy is being heavily tipped to become Celtic’s new manager, with the Columbus Crew boss recently finishing his season in the MLS.
Whilst all of that is happening, Andy Robertson is being linked with a return to Celtic, with the Liverpool left-back coming through the system at Parkhead, but never earning a senior appearance.
So, could Robertson and Nancy be lining up for the champions of Scotland next season?

Andy Robertson playing for Celtic under Wilfried Nancy?
Charlie Mulgrew made it clear that he would jump at the chance of Celtic re-signing Robertson by stating, ‘I would take him back.’
Speaking on Go Radio, the former defender first questioned where the Champions League winner would fit in at Celtic.
But then put it on the table that, if Nancy is appointed, his three at the back system would allow the Hoops to play Robertson, as well as Kieran Tierney.
Mulgrew: “I have seen he was linked to Celtic. A pre-contract. 100%, I would take him back. Why not?

“I know Kieran Tierney has come in. So, you have two left-backs. What would you do with them?
“If Nancy comes in and plays a back three. There you go, right away. Tierney is your left centre-back, and Robertson is your left wing-back.
“But then again, the argument would be, do you pay a massive part of your budget and wages on two left-backs? That would maybe be the balance. It depends on what your budget is. You would want your big money going on strikers and creative midfielders.”
Craig Moore: “They have plenty of money in the bank.”
Mulgrew: “It’s whether they spend it, though.”
Robertson’s status in Scotland
Mulgrew was part of the Scotland set-up when Robertson was captain, so he would have seen what the all-action fullback was like up close and personal.
To nobody’s surprise, the two-time Premier League winner, whose contract at Anfield expires next summer, is ‘always’ leading by example.
“He played unbelievably against Real Madrid,” said Mulgrew about Robertson’s display during Liverpool’s recent win over Real Madrid in the Champions League.
“A 31-year-old. Captain of Scotland. He has shown the number of games he has played. He has won two (one*) Champions Leagues. He will go down as a Scotland legend.
What was Robertson like as a captain: “Always wanting the best for the lads. Always led by example in the way he trained and communicated during training. How he put the effort in and delivered the manager’s message. He was brilliant. Top class. I couldn’t complain.”
