Relief for Leeds United as player returns to training on Friday

Leeds United can rest easy. Gabriel Gudmundsson is back in full training with the Swedish national team.

That’s according to Fotboll Skanalen. They report that the Leeds United defender was back in group training on Friday after being forced to miss out on Thursday.

It appears that any injury concerns around the full-back have now been dropped. He was left out of training on Thursday after reportedly feeling something.

A report explained that he watched his teammates train from the sidelines are feeling a slight injury concern. It was then explained today that Newcastle United’s Emil Krafth had been brought in to the squad as a precaution because of the concern about Gudmundsson.

Krafth was actually named as the replacement for Lucas Bergvall. But that raised eyebrows given the Tottenham man is a midfielder and Krafth is a full-back. Thus, it was explained that he was actually being eyed as a replacement for the Leeds United man, who was clearly causing concern in the Sweden camp.

It appears, though, that was all for nothing. According to Fotboll Skanalen, Gudmundsson was back in group training on Friday. That would suggest there are no major concerns and Leeds United fans can all breathe easily, for now.
