West Ham United women's team v Everton | All You Need To Know

Sørensen was appointed Everton manager in April 2022 and has achieved back-to-back eighth-place finishes in the WSL in his two full seasons in charge.

His appointment at the Toffees marked his first job in England’s top flight, having previously spent his managerial career in his home country, Denmark, coaching FC Nordsjælland, IK Skovbakken, and most notably, Fortuna Hjørring, where he stayed for seven years across two spells at the club.

Also during his time at Fortuna Hjørring, Sørensen guided the Danish side to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2016, having lifted his first Danish Championship two years prior.

Everton made nine signings over the summer. As well as the addition of Vignola, they recruited Martina Fernandez from Barcelona, Rion Ishikawa from Urawa Reds, Hikaru Kitagawa from Haken, Ruby Mace and Yuka Momiki from Leicester City, Katie Robinson (loan) and Maz Pacheco from Aston Villa and Rosa van Gool from Ajax.

Among the nine departures were Justine Vanhaevermaet, who left upon the expiry of her contract, and Sara Holmgaard, who signed for Real Madrid.

Previous Meetings…

West Ham United have enjoyed our previous home fixtures against the Toffees, winning three of the last four and keeping clean sheets in four of the last five.

We most recently faced Everton in January, on an afternoon when Skinner's side ran out 2-0 winners in Dagenham courtesy of first-half goals from Shekiera Martinez, her first for the Club, and Viviane Asseyi.

The sides drew 1-1 on Merseyside in October last season, in which Anouk Denton struck for the Irons.
