Fabrizio Romano shares lunchtime Daniel Farke sack update out of Leeds United

Leeds United board members are not planning to sack head coach Daniel Farke in the coming days despite there being pressure for the Elland Road tactician to oversee an upturn in form after dropping to within one point of the Premier League's relegation zone, GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his latest newsletter.

The Whites threw away a one-goal lead against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest in their final clash before the international break - thanks to Lukas Nmecha's opener being cancelled out by Ibrahim Sangare before further efforts from Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson - and that has left supporters fearing an immediate return to the Championship.

Farke's job in the Leeds dugout is safe for now, according to Romano, but it has been acknowledged behind the scenes that results need to improve if he wants to remain in the hot-seat for the long-term. The respected journalist, writing in his latest GMS newsletter sent to subscribers on Friday lunchtime, said:

"At the moment, he is still under control. But, of course, results must change as soon as possible to avoid surprises."

Farke guided Leeds to the Championship title last season, having already been crowned a second tier champion twice during his spell at the Norwich City helm, but they have found themselves in a relegation dogfight after struggling to record a consistent run of positive results in the Premier League this term.

The Whites have registered three wins over the course of their first 11 fixtures, with their most recent victory coming against West Ham United last month, but they conceded three goals in each of their defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest since that triumph over the east Londoners.

Farke has insisted that no-one is panicking behind the scenes after Leeds have lost four of their last five encounters, with everyone on the same page at this stage, but there is increasing pressure as he prepares for the domestic campaign to resume with a home clash against Aston Villa on November 23.

The German tactician, who has also managed the likes of Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach during his managerial career, has been at the Elland Road helm since July 2023 and he narrowly missed out on promotion during his first season in charge as the Whites lost to Southampton in the Championship play-off final.
