Leeds United News understand scouts were sent to watch Troy Parrott take on Portugal in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday night.
The Republic of Ireland international scored twice to fire his country to a 2-0 win over Portugal inside the Aviva Stadium, on a night where Cristiano Ronaldo was shown a straight red card.
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for Leeds United News – has now provided details as Leeds keep a close eye on Parrott following interest in the summer transfer window too.
Exclusive: Leeds United still monitoring Troy Parrott after summer interest
We understand Leeds had representatives in attendance at the Aviva Stadium to cast an eye over the 23-year-old, who is enjoying a quite remarkable season.
Parrott – who rejected Leeds in the summer, according to reports in the Netherlands – has scored 13 goals in just 14 appearances for AZ Alkmaar across all competitions so far this term.
The man born in Dublin has also netted two goals in three international outings, both of which came in front of Leeds scouts on Thursday night.
As Ronaldo embarrassed himself following an elbow on Dara O’Shea, Parrott stepped up for his country and saw his star rise even higher amid a stunning 2025/26 campaign so far.

We also understand Leeds are watching Ismael Saibari of PSV Eindhoven, another player shining in the Netherlands with ten goals in 17 appearances this term.
How much AZ Alkmaar are likely to demand from Leeds United
Sources have also informed Leeds United News that AZ Alkmaar would demand a sum in the region of £25m to sell Parrott this winter at this moment in time.
The Dutch side signed the Irishman from Tottenham back in July 2024 for a sum of £6.7m, but agreed for Spurs to have a 20% sell-on clause in the deal.

Therefore, a £25m sale would see Tottenham receive £5m, so AZ Alkmaar’s valuation of Parrott is based on what they must send to the north Londoners in the event of a sale.
The AZ Alkmaar No.9 also has a contract with the Eredivisie side which runs until July 2029, so they are in no rush to sell their talisman.
