Ivan Toney Leeds United
Goals have been a big issue for Leeds United this season; the club thought bringing in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha was enough for this campaign. And it did indeed look like an upgrade on last year.
The Whites had Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph battling for the centre-forward position in the Championship. Leeds did spend over a £100 million but only £18 million was splashed on attacking reinforcements – with Noah Okafor joining from AC Milan. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha joined on free transfers.

Despite Nmecha being the joint-top scorer in the Premier League season for the club (two goals), the overall outlook of the attack has been very disappointing. The team cannot finish their chances and it has cost Leeds games time and time again.
Fabrizio Romano gives Ivan Toney update amid Leeds United links
Earlier this week, there were serious reports that Ivan Toney could make his way back to England in January. Alex Crook shared that the striker would potentially have a chance at making the World Cup in the summer if he was playing in the Premier League. It does look like there will be interest in the former Brentford man in the next few months.
But, Al Ahli director Rui Pedro Braz has shut down any chance of a move in January, with Fabrizio Romano putting out the follow comments from Braz on X: “Ivan Toney is a top player, a top striker. The rumors around his possible exit in January are NOT based on reality”.
“It’s just not true. We’re counting on him, it makes zero sense to address this subject in November.”
Even with the club’s director denying any chances of a move, it would be almost impossible for Leeds to get a deal. The wages are almost impossible, and the fact that the Whites are battling relegation would be something the England man would not like to be a part of.
England striker would solve Leeds goalscoring problems
Ivan Toney scores goals, it is something he has replicated across all the leagues he played in during his time in England. The Whites are crying out for a striker like that; he can hold up play, and most importantly convert chances.
He made the most out of playing for a pragmatic Brentford side, and his goals kept them in the Premier League, so there is no question if he could replicate this at Elland Road. It would be an impossible dream for Leeds United to get Ivan Toney, but the ownership do need to get a serious striker when January comes around because survival could depend on it.
