Everton and Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing 28-year-old Japanese international Daizen Maeda from Celtic in the winter transfer window.

The 28-year-old winger has been disillusioned since his contract talks with the Scottish Premiership champions went awry. So, a move to the Premier League may be on the cards for the experienced wide attacker.
Everton and Leeds United are among five prospective suitors vying for Maeda’s signature heading into the winter transfer window, with Brentford leading the race to sign him. Meanwhile, Celtic will demand around £15 million to part ways with the Taishi native, who wants to leave the Scottish giants in the coming weeks.
Daizen Maeda and his career so far
Daizen Maeda has been one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership since joining Celtic from Yokohama FM. The 28-year-old winger has spent most of his career thus far in Japan while experiencing the most success during his spell with Celtic. The Hoops initially signed the player on loan in January 2022 before completing a permanent move in the subsequent summer transfer window.
The Japanese international has made nearly 200 appearances thus far for Celtic while chipping in with 66 goals and 30 assists. However, Maeda’s long-term future at the Scottish club is uncertain, as he wants to embark on a new adventure in the winter transfer window.
