Matheus Cunha has shown his true Manchester United colours in response to being asked by a fan if he would ever join Arsenal. The versatile attacker was Ruben Amorim's first summer signing, joining from Wolves in a £62.5 million transfer.

Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens later joined Cunha as new players for the 2025/26 season and beyond. The latter endured a challenging first few weeks at Old Trafford with injury halting any momentum, but he has responded well to that.

The 26-year-old scored his first goal for United in the 4-2 triumph over Brighton after an unselfish shift as a false nine in the stunning 2-1 away at Liverpool the previous week, a role he was also deployed in for last weekend's draw with Tottenham.

Mbeumo, who scored his fifth goal of the season in that clash, has been the more reliable in front of goal but Cunha's undeniable impact cannot go unnoticed with that evidenced by him getting back into the starting XI ahead of Mason Mount

There were a number of suitors for both players, but Cunha's early summer switch and Mbeumo waiting for United has shown the duo only had eyes for a move to Old Trafford.

Arsenal were one club linked to Cunha throughout 2025 but Mikel Arteta and Co. went elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.

Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres all joined the Gunners with any chance of a future move to Emirates Stadium dismissed by Cunha.

His recent performances at United have seen him named in the Brazil squad again and upon arriving to what looks to be the national team hotel, Cunha laughed at a fan when asked if he would ever join Arsenal, via Tik Tok account @ttflake.

Brazil are set to face Senegal and Tunisia in two friendlies over the coming days with some United stars having already played for their respective nations.

Marcus Rashford played 64 minutes of England's win over Serbia, but it was not an enjoyable evening for other stars including Bryan Mbeumo with defeat to DR Congo meaning Cameroon will not be at next summer's World Cup.

Andre Onana, on loan at Trabzonspor from United, was in goal for Cameroon, but could do nothing about Chancel Mbemba's late winner.

Portugal are also yet to qualify with a 2-0 loss to Ireland taking it down to the final game. Diogo Dalot played the full 90 minutes while Bruno Fernandes missed out through suspension and former player Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off.
