Nico Paz is the hottest young name out there. Even if you are not following the Italian league, social media would have made you aware of the miracles he is pulling for Como.
He is young. He is fast. He is clever on and off the ball. I do not see anything negative at this point. And for all those reasons, he is on the radar of major clubs across Europe. The world must want him.
Real Madrid had the chance to call him back from Como this season, but they chose to wait another year. And now Chelsea are thought to be competing with Los Blancos for his signature in the upcoming transfer market.
Everybody knows the real reason why Real Madrid will beat Chelsea to Nico Paz
According to reports, the English side Chelsea have submitted an official enquiry to Como regarding the availability of Paz, indicating a strong interest in signing the Argentine and a clear intent to go head-to-head with Real Madrid for his signature.
But I see no competition. Real Madrid simply have better odds of bringing Paz back to the Bernabeu. And it is not just about the player’s intention, which is clearly to return to Madrid in the future, but the favorable commercial and legal conditions that put Florentino Perez as the clear favorite to sign Paz.
Just like with almost every academy graduate sold to other clubs, Real Madrid inserted in Paz’s sale agreement with Como a right of first refusal clause, under which the Spanish side has the legal ability to be informed of bids that Como receives for the player and to deny them if they wish.
Not only that, Madrid also has the customary buyback clause in the Como agreement, under which they will be able to sign him back for a mere 9 million euros, which I would say is at least 90 million short of his current market value.
So for Chelsea to win the showdown, they will have to work around Madrid’s right of first refusal, which is almost impossible on its own, and then offer a large sum at his market value that still does not guarantee a done deal. Real Madrid, on the other hand, will only have to refuse Chelsea’s advances and pay 9 million, and it will be a sealed deal for them.
I see no competition. Real Madrid will not only beat Chelsea but virtually any club that tries to get Nico Paz. They simply have better odds.
