Harvey Elliott's future remains the subject of speculation as his frustrations at Aston Villa after leaving Liverpool on loan continue. But despite his game-time being limited at Villa Park, that has not stopped him from playing a prominent role in the Villans' festive marketing campaign.

The 22-year-old midfielder made the temporary switch to Villa Park back in September, with a £35m clause included that would make the move permanent if he played 10 matches for the club.

To date, Elliott has donned the Claret and Blue jersey five times, but his appearances have been sparse under Unai Emery, with the midfielder failing to make an appearance for the club since October 2.

Despite scoring on his full debut against Brentford in the League Cup in September, he was subbed off at half-time in his only other start against his old team, Fulham, later that month.

Since then, he's only had one run out, coming on as a late sub in Villa's Europa League win over Feyenoord in early October.

In the seven matches since his last appearance, Elliott has been left on the bench against Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur, Go Ahead Eagles and Maccabi Tel Aviv, and wasn't even in the squad for wins over Man City and AFC Bournemouth. He was also ineligible to play against his former team, Liverpool.

Elliott's limited game-time has sparked rumours and uncertainty about his future and whether Villa will sign him on a permanent basis. The situation is further complicated by the fact that he made two appearances for Liverpool before joining Villa, which prevents him from playing for a third team during the 2025/26 season.

It remains to be seen whether Elliott will remain at Villa when the January transfer window opens, but the Midlands club have seemingly dropped a hint about the player's future.

The midfielder is one of several players featured in the club's Christmas marketing campaign, with Villa deciding to share a photo of Elliott wearing a club woolly hat, 'Up the Villa' scarf and Christmas jumper ahead of the festive season, along with the slogan: 'All is Claret, All is Blue'.

The Liverpool loanee also shared the aforementioned image on his own Instagram story.

Elliott is not the only Villa player included in the campaign, with Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash also pictured wearing club merchandise.

Despite being only on loan at Villa Park, it is perhaps telling that Villa chose to include him in the campaign amidst the ongoing speculation about his future.
