Top insider slams Chelsea for “embarrassing” situation which needs to be “sorted out”

There are still no updates on Chelsea and their search for a front of shirt sponsor according to journalist Matt Law.

This is the third season on the bounce the Blues have entered without a front of shirt sponsor, with it believed Chelsea are looking for a deal worth around £60m per season.

The club have had a number of short terms deals in that period, with Infinite Athlete the sponsor for part of the 2023/2024 campaign, whilst property company Damac featured on the shirt for a handful of games at the end of last season.

No update on Chelsea front of shirt sponsor

A new sleeve sponsor was announced last month, and Chelsea are reportedly in the closing stages of finding a new shirt sponsor.

It’s believed Red Bull could be a potential sponsor, whilst the Blues are also said to have had conversations with a number of suitors from the Middle East and America.

However, it’s approaching the end of the November and Law has reported there are now new updates on a shirt sponsor.

“There is no update whatsoever,” he told The London Is Blue Podcast.

“It needs to be sorted out. It’s embarrassing.”

The lack of a sponsor has puzzled fans, and Law is absolutely right in the sense it’s embarrassing, but that doesn’t particularly appear to be bothering Chelsea.

Blues missing out on crucial revenue

The lack of shirt sponsor is without doubt causing the Blues to miss out on much needed revenue compared to their rivals.

Liverpool’s current deal with Standard Chartered is said to be worth £50m per season, whilst Manchester United are reportedly banking around £60m per season from Snapdragon.

The Blues made over £300m in player sales this summer, but a lack of shirt sponsor means they are having to come up with alternative ways to plug the revenue gap.
