How long is left on Everton's Castore kit deal as future Adidas switch mooted

Everton are searching for a new front-of-shirt sponsor to put on their Castore shirt ahead of next year’s change in sponsorship regulations.

Under The Friedkin Group, there are a lot more doors opening for Everton in a commercial sense, with the club in a much more stable position.

David Moyes has seen the financial improvements when it came to the summer transfer window.

The 62-year-old was handed significant backing as Everton have experienced improved revenue through their move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

It is clear for all to see that Everton are becoming a much more attractive club when it comes to landing new partnership deals.

Everton will host at the 2028 Euros, which is just another feather in the cap for the American owners as they take the club from strength to strength.

However, the club are actively looking for new sponsorship deals as the details of their current agreement with Castore have now been shared.

When Everton landed their kit manufacturer deal with Castore, in 2024, it was described as a ‘multi-year deal’ in the press releases.

Speaking to Everton News, finance expert Adam Williams has done some digging on the details behind the deal between the Blues and Castore.

“From what I’ve heard, it looks like the Castore deal will run for at least five years. We’re only into the second year, so we’re clearly just at the foothills of the partnership,” Williams told Everton News.

“Castore will have wanted to have committed Everton while the new stadium is still a novelty. That is inevitably going to lead to more units sold and more eyeballs on their products.

“Castore have had a lot of investments recently and they are definitely trying to globalise their brand. Being associated with this new era of Everton is a big part of that. They are getting a lot of indirect attention because of it, which further legitimises their brand.”

Kieran Maguire also told Everton News that Everton could strike a crypto deal for their new front-of-shirt sponsor.

“If you look at the other clubs that they have partnered with – Bayer Leverkusen, Athletic Club, Rangers – there is a common theme, which I suppose you could describe as ‘sleeping giants’. Everton fit into that category,” Williams added.

Could The Friedkin Group strike Adidas agreement for Everton?

The Friedkins have a current agreement in place with Adidas for their other side, AS Roma.

It is worth mentioning that Castore were delighted to strike their Everton agreement and even met with the Friedkins earlier in the year.

On social media, The Friedkin Group have been vocal about the relationship between Roma and Adidas through their recent product launches.

Of course, there is the matter of Adidas also holding a new agreement with Everton’s city rivals, but it would be a deal that could offer the Blues significantly more in revenue.

“Clubs are increasingly describing their commercial partnerships as ‘multi-year’ deals because it gives them a bit of flexibility and get-out for both parties,” said Williams.

“Maybe in a few years, Everton might want to move onto a more established brand – and Adidas or a Nike. We saw that with Newcastle, where they bought Castore out of the rest of the contract. That was messy, but having a bit of ambiguity around the length of the deal can give either party a way to save face and exit the deal.”

The Telegraph believe Everton’s deal with Castore is currently worth around £20m-per-year, whilst The Chronicle report Newcastle United’s deal with Adidas to be worth £30m-per-year.

That is a significant difference in yearly revenue being missed out on by Everton to a club who they will consider themselves as bigger than.

Food for thought as the Friedkins continue their aim to grow Everton into an even bigger global brand.
