Arne Slot will be determined to welcome Alexander Isak and Alisson back into the Liverpool squad following the November international break.

The Premier League champions entered the two-week pause on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Goals from Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku sealed the points for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Liverpool’s injury problems have eased in recent weeks. Ryan Gravenberch has returned to action, while Alexis Mac Allister managed three starts in the space of seven days.

However, their involvement was not enough to prevent the defeat at the Etihad Stadium.

In attack, Isak was named on the bench after missing the previous six weeks, although he did not feature.

Alisson, Jeremie Frimpong, and Giovanni Leoni also remain sidelined, each with different expected return dates.

On the women’s side, Liverpool FC Women have been handed significant injury news ahead of Sunday’s Barclays Women’s Super League clash with Chelsea at St Helens Stadium.

Manager Gareth Taylor spoke to the media at the AXA Melwood Training Centre, providing updates on the health and availability of his squad.

“Gemma Bonner and Lucy Parry are back in training,” Taylor said.

“We should be able to get them for some kind of time if needed on the weekend.

“Alejandra [Bernabe] is still building up but is training with the team. Hopefully by next week we can start to consider her for the squad also.

“Marie’s [Höbinger] surgery went well last week. Sophie Roman Haug will have her surgery next week.

“Zara Shaw is also close to returning to the team probably in December for training.

“It’s quite good to be able to get Gemma Bonner and Lucy Parry a little bit closer to the team.”
