NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans will mark a significant transition Jan. 12, when Mayor-elect Helena Moreno is sworn into office along with newly elected city officials. The inauguration is expected to highlight optimism, momentum and a shared commitment to moving the city “in a new, right direction,” according to organizers.
Moreno on Friday announced the leaders who will oversee planning and coordination for the event. Gayle Benson will serve as honorary chair, and the inauguration planning committee will be co-chaired by Rico Alvendia, Sheila Burns, Jennifer Heebe, Barry Kern and Dottie Reese.
