COLUMBUS, Ohio — New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson had a stellar performance on Thursday Night Football, scoring three touchdowns against the Jets.
Afterward, while speaking with ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt, Henderson made a proclamation about his alma mater, Ohio State.
“Those guys are balling right now, man,” Henderson said. “I’m proud of those guys. To see those guys mature as men and as players as well — I’m proud of those guys. Who knows, I think they’re going to win the ‘chip again."
Henderson is in his rookie season with the Patriots after a decorated career in Columbus.
He ran for 3,761 yards and 42 touchdowns in four years with the Buckeyes. He also caught 77 passes for 853 yards and six scores.
Last season, his final one with Ohio State, Henderson shared a backfield with Quinshon Judkins. They each ran for more than 1,000 yards while leading the Buckeyes to the ninth national title in program history.
