The Cincinnati Bengals have released their final injury report of the week leading up to Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
QB Joe Burrow is nearing his return much sooner than anticipated, but that won’t be this week. Hs was limited all week and ruled out today. Joe Flacco will once again play against the Steelers after a great performance a few weeks ago against them.
As with any Friday injury report, this one comes with game status designations. A questionable designation denotes a 50-50 chance of playing. Doubtful means a greater chance than not of sitting out. And players can also be ruled out altogether. Those that are deemed questionable and doubtful are often unknown until 90 minutes until game time when teams have to make decisions on game day inactives.
Here is the Bengals’ Friday injury report, shared by the team on X.
BENGALS’ WEEK 11 FRIDAY INJURY REPORT
OUT
DE Trey Hendrickson (hip/pelvis)
DE Shemar Stewart (knee)
QB Joe Burrow (foot — remains on Reserve/Injured)
RB Samaje Perine (ankle)
QUESTIONABLE
G Lucas Patrick (calf)
Both of the Bengals’ top pass rushers were ruled out for this game. Trey Hendrickson also missed last game against the Steelers, and Stewart only played 39 percent of the snaps, so it won’t be a huge difference for them, other than potential depth issues if further injuries occur. Myles Murphy, Joseph Ossai, and Cam Sample should be the top pass rushers for the Bengals. They combined for five total tackles last time the two teams met.
For all the fuss about Hendrickson and the Bengals in the offseason, he didn’t end up playing the Steelers a single time after returning to the team on an altered deal.
Perine only had seven carries, but played well in his change of pace role against the Steelers in Week 7 with 31 yards. He had 96 yards the week after that against the New York Jets. Chase Brown is the lead back, and now he won’t have much behind him to rotate or give him relief throughout the game. Tahj Brooks is the only other back on the active roster. They will likely call up Kendall Milton or Gary Brightwell from the practice squad to bolster depth.
