CBS Sports writer Josh Edwards came out with each NFL team's most impressive and disappointing rookies so far during this young NFL season.
To no one's surprise, Edwards ranked Jihaad Campbell as the team's most impressive rookie, with fourth-round draft pick defensive back Ty Robinson being its most disappointing.
Do Campbell and Robinson deserve their spots on the list?
Campbell, being the crown jewel of the draft class, is no surprise to anyone who watched him in the preseason and through the first half of the season. After being drafted with the 31st pick out of the University of Alabama, Campbell was a day-one starter for Vic Fangio on defense.
"Campbell landed in an ideal situation as the complementary piece next to Zack Baun. He has been given the freedom to roam about the defense's second level. His high level of activity has been evident in the stat sheet."
Campbell has been a versatile player for Philadelphia, excelling as both an off-ball player and an edge rusher for the team. He's essentially allowed Fangio to utilize his skill set and athleticism, much like Derrick Brooks of the 2002 Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers. Campbell has totaled 50 tackles, one interception, two pass breakups, one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble so far this season.
While Campbell has been the peak of Howie Roseman's draft class, Edwards believes that Ty Robinson, the Eagles' fourth-round pick out of Nebraska, is the most disappointing rookie out of the draft class.
"Robinson was a personal pre-draft favorite and represented surplus value in the fourth round. Although the Eagles have not needed much from him, the hope was that Robinson would be more involved in the rotation. Sixth-round quarterback pick Kyle McCord did not make the active roster either."
Robinson had high marks coming out of college, but though hasn't been asked to do much and has struggled to find a place in the defensive line rotation. Robinson has appeared in six games for the Eagles this year, totaling a tackle and one pass breakup.
While Robinson hasn't been the elite by any means, his status as the Eagles' worst draft pick is a premature and off mark. Fifth-round pick Mac McWilliams has appeared in 21 snaps through four games despite issues at cornerback.
McCord was waived after training camp and is on the practice squad despite a Tanner McKee injury early in the season. While OLB Antwaun Powell-Ryland, another sixth-round pick, has been on and off the practice squad now finally landed with the Cincinnati Bengals on their practice squad.

While fans may not be surprised by Campbell's emergence as a perennial star, to believe that Robinson is trending towards disappointment when buried behind a surge of first-round picks and veterans is unfair and premature.
