Denver Broncos All-Pro guard Quinn Meinerz has been playing through an undiagnosed illness this season, he said Thursday.
Meinerz, a fifth-year NFL veteran, was asked why he missed most of the second half of the Broncos’ 10-7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 6.
“Just a little bit of an illness,” he told The Denver Gazette after Broncos practice on Thursday. “It’s something I’ve been battling here and there throughout the entire season. Still don’t necessarily have any answers, but working through it every single day and we’ll see what happens.
He said he was awaiting more answers from medical professionals while his illness remains undiagnosed.
“Nothing yet,” Meinerz said. “I’m still working through it. So I got some more testing and stuff.
“It’s random. Some days I feel great, some days I don’t,” he added.
Meinerz has started all 10 games for the Broncos (8-2) this season. He has made 56 consecutive starts for the Broncos and hasn’t missed a game since September 2022.
In addition to his undiagnosed illness, Meinerz also began wearing glasses and contacts this week, the latter of which he is “working through,” according to The Gazette.
“Got my eyes checked and realized I probably should have to get some glasses going,” he said. “So I got some glasses and contacts.”
