**Things have not worked out for forward Timo Werner pretty much since the day he decided to leave RB Leipzig and join Chelsea back in 2020.**
The German was brought in when Frank Lampard was in charge, and joined alongside the likes of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech in an attempt to transform the frontline at Stamford Bridge.
In 89 games, Werner scored 23 goals, and was part of the starting side who won the Champions League, although his time at the club is not fondly remembered.
Chelsea have been accused of ruining Werner’s career, with him not finding success back in Germany or during his time at Tottenham.

Despite being just 29 years of age, it looks as if the forward is set for a move many would only make in the latter stages of their careers.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg has stated that a winter transfer is now likely, with an MLS side the most likely to secure his signature.
He said: “A move for Timo Werner in winter is becoming increasingly likely. Destination: MLS, unless something extraordinary happens. Discussions are ongoing.
“His contract with RB Leipzig runs until 2026.”
Chelsea fans have not been afraid to poke fun at Werner for how things have turned out for him since his unsuccessful spell at Stamford Bridge.

A number of Chelsea’s best ever players have enjoyed spells over in America, however normally when they are in the twilight of their career.
Frank Lampard featured alongside Andrea Pirlo in midfield for New York City FC, while Ashley Cole had a short spell with LA Galaxy.
The Blues faced Olivier Giroud at the Club World Cup when he was part of LAFC, however since then he has moved back to France.
Werner would be moving over at an age where many players are still in the prime of their career, however he has ended up as proof that things do not always work out upon a big move.
