Leeds United left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson missed training for Sweden this week as he noted a minor injury concern.
United will need to be on top form after the international break to get results in the Premier League. What wouldn’t help is potential injury setbacks between now and a home clash against Aston Villa.
Internationals out on duty are striving to help their nations qualify for the 2026 World Cup, but Daniel Farke will just be hoping they return to Thorp Arch in one piece.

Gabriel Gudmundsson misses training with an injury ‘feeling’ during Sweden duty
Left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson is out on duty with Graham Potter’s Sweden this week. His nation are bottom of Group B and would require back-to-back wins against Switzerland and Slovenia to stand any chance of sneaking into the playoffs.
As they prepare to take on Switzerland, it was revealed by Sweden’s press officer that Gudmundsson had sat out of training this week.

The 26-year-old was absent as a precaution over what was described as a “feeling”, not believed to be a major issue, but enough to worry coaching staff.
Gabriel Gudmundsson back in training for Sweden after brief injury scare
Gudmundsson’s time out of the setup at Sweden was short-lived, though, thankfully for Leeds. It’s since been revealed that he’s back with Potter’s group ahead of their game on Saturday in Geneva.
Swedish outlet Expressen reveal that he’s been back on the grass on Friday, amidst various injury issues for Potter.
That update coincides with Gudmundsson dropping this post on his Instagram story from their training camp in Marbella:
Leeds United can’t afford to have Gabriel Gudmundsson ruled out for any period
It says a lot both about how well Gudmundsson has settled in, but also how toothless Leeds’ attack has been that he looks one of the best outlets we’ve got.
His drive on the ball is eventually going to lead to him chalking up assist after assist. But for now, it’s being wasted.
It would be ideal if Potter is sparing with our left-back over the next week. If he’s carrying a precaution, he shouldn’t be playing full 90-minute games.
