The Detroit Lions play on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field for Week 11 of the regular season on Sunday Night Football. The team aims to win its third game against an opponent with a winning record and improve its position in the NFC Playoff Picture. It will be even more challenging with an offensive weapon banged up.

Sam LaPorta must have suffered a back injury last week because he popped up on the injury report despite playing 76% of offensive snaps. The Pro Bowl tight end was unable to practice this week, a concerning sign regarding his availability for Week 11. LaPorta has recorded 40 receptions for 489 yards and three touchdowns across nine games, including nine starts, accounting for 90% of snaps.
Detroit Lions Pro Bowl weapon hit with bad news for Week 11
Detroit Lions, Sam LaPorta
Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (87) makes a catch against Washington Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu (4) during the first half at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md. on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
The Lions officially released their Week 11 injury report on Friday and ruled Sam LaPorta out against the Philadelphia Eagles. The offense must rely on Brock Wright and Ross Dwelley to carry the workload with the Pro Bowler out. Meanwhile, the team may elevate either Anthony Firkser or Zach Horton from the practice squad for gameday, as they currently have only two healthy tight ends on the active roster.
