Liverpool contemplate move to bring former Arsenal prospect back to the Premier League

Liverpool are in the mix for Serge Gnabry ahead of next summer, with the Bayern Munich star currently leaning towards leaving as a free agent.

According to Sport Bild, Liverpool are in a tussle to sign Serge Gnabry on a free transfer next summer, but his salary demands are a big issue. Bayern Munich are yet to agree a new deal with the versatile attacker, as they are not willing to pay what the player wants in wages, as Juventus are also keen.

Serge Gnabry has been a sensational signing for Bayern Munich many years ago, as Arsenal let him leave on the cheap. The German international took a strange route to the Bavarians, having first signed for Hoffenheim before joining the Bundesliga champions.

Gnabry has been a top presence for the side in all these years, and continues to showcase his importance for the team. He does have an expiring contract, which ends at the end of the season, with Bayern Munich yet to find a solution to his future.

The former Arsenal prospect reportedly earns €17-19 million in wages, and Bayern Munich are not willing to offer that again for the 30-year-old. Gnabry’s situation has already attracted some key clubs, including Juventus, who are sweating on Kenan Yildiz’s future, with the Turkish star yet to agree on a new deal.

The Bianconeri are looking at Gnabry on a Bosman deal and could be willing to propose to his camp. However, the salary demands of €17-19 million or more could be a deterrent factor for Juventus, as is the case with Liverpool, who are in a tussle for the former Arsenal prospect.

Liverpool are keen on Serge Gnabry

Liverpool are in the market for a new attacker who could play multiple roles in the front three. They are linked with Antoine Semenyo, who is very similar to Gnabry’s profile. The Reds are looking at Gnabry as a bit option in the market, as the qualities he brings to the table are probably what Arne Slot’s side lacks to an extent.

Even though Liverpool may not have to pay a transfer fee if Gnabry decides against renewing with Bayern Munich, his salary demands will play a big role. Liverpool recently offered big deals to veteran stars Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, but there are doubts whether they will offer something similar to Gnabry, meaning the German attacker may have to find other avenues to further his career and earn big.
