Broncos Slammed With Rough Injury News on Top Weapon

The Denver Broncos are 8-2 and sit atop the AFC West heading into their Week 11 showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs, but they will have to take on Patrick Mahomes on Co. without one of their top weapons.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz has revealed that Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins is slated to miss multiple weeks due to a foot injury he suffered during Denver’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders last Thursday. Schultz added that injured reserve is a possibility for Dobbins.

Dobbins signed with the Broncos during the offseason and has been having a tremendous year in the Mile High City. Through 10 games, he has racked up 772 yards and four touchdowns while averaging five yards per carry and was well on pace to post the most productive campaign of his NFL career.

Talent has never been the issue for Dobbins. His health, however, has always been a major question mark.

The 26-year-old was originally selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and had a terrific rookie showing, registering 805 yards and nine scores on a hefty six yards per attempt. However, he missed all of 2021 due to a torn ACL, and he also tore his Achilles one game into the 2023 campaign.

Since his rookie year, Dobbins has played in a grand total of 32 games over five seasons. He spent 2024 with the Los Angeles Chargers and managed to appear in 13 contests last year, but a knee injury prevented him from reaching his first 1,000-yard season. He finished with 905 yards while reaching the end zone nine times.

Dobbins has been a critical part of a Broncos offense that has struggled with its passing attack in 2025, so the loss of the Ohio State product will definitely be huge down the stretch.

Denver will have to turn to rookie halfback RJ Harvey to fill in for Dobbins. Harvey has totaled 214 yards and a couple of touchdowns on 4.3 yards per attempt thus far this season.

The Broncos are aiming to make their second straight playoff appearance.
