The Green Bay Packers enter Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season with a 5-3-1 record that’s only now good for third in the NFC North standings. They are also coming off two losses in a row, both at home, to the Carolina Panthers in Week 9 and to the reigning Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10.
Green Bay has something to prove in Week 11 in a game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, but will wide receiver Matthew Golden be able to have a big part in the contest?
Before he could, he must first prove he’s ready to goafter missing the Eagles game with a shoulder injury.
At the moment, the former Texas Longhorns star wideout is carrying a questionable label for the meeting with the Giants on the road.
Ex-Packers DB brings up Adams comparison to mitigate concerns on Golden

Amid the concerns on Golden’s underwhelming rookie season, Clinton-Dix hearkened back to the early years of former Packers superstar wide receiver Davantate Adams to put things into perspective.
Here’s what Clinton-Dixwrote in a social media post on X:
“No way am I comparing the two but I remember when Tae was battling injuries early and ppl quit on him. Now he will be in a gold jacket at the end of this. Packer nation block the noise and watch him rise to the top. 🔛🔝🔜 0️⃣ #GoPackGo 🧀”
Before he became Green Bay’s top wide receiver for several years, Adams also had to deal with troubles early on in his pro career. In his second season in the league in 2013, the former Fresno State Bulldogs star only had 483 receiving yards and a touchdown in 13 games played. Two seasons later, Adams would earn the first of his six Pro Bowl nods in a row, a stretch that also saw him came away with three All-Pro selections.
Will Golden turn into the Packers’ next Adams? Maybe not, but then again, it’s too early to tell what he’ll become in the NFL.
On the season,Golden has 262 receiving yards on 23 receptions and just 29 targets.
