Depot After Dark: Narduzzi On Tomlin, Scouting Steelers’ Scouts, Saban Shows Love To Pittsburgh

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for Nov. 14.

NARDUZZI ON TOMLIN

Acrisure Stadium is not only home to the Steelers, but also the Pittsburgh Panthers. Sometimes, that creates trouble for both teams, most notably when the field is in poor condition. However, it can also provide benefits to both teams.

Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi talked about all the advantages to sharing a facility and a field with the Steelers in a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. He specifically points out getting a front row seat to seeing Mike Tomlin work. While Tomlin gets a lot of criticism, he’s got a ton of knowledge. That’s a great resource, and Narduzzi clearly tries to take advantage of it.

Scouting Steelers’ Scouts

Steelers’ scouts have hit the trail for Friday night college football. Per beat writer Chapel Fowler, at least one scout is attending tonight’s game between Clemson and Louisville.

Per press box seating chart: Scouts from the Browns (x2), Titans (x2), Steelers, Patriots (x2), Falcons, Giants, Vikings, Bears, Bills, Cardinals, Dolphins, 49ers (x2), Lions, Raiders and Colts (x3) are on site for tonight's primetime Clemson vs. Louisville football game

QB Cade Klubnik is among the most notable prospects to watch. He’s turned around a slow start to the season to come on strong, though the Tigers enter the game a lowly 4-5. He’s thrown 14 touchdowns and completed better than 67 percent of his passes. He could lean on WR Antonio Williams, who may be one of the top 10 receivers in this year’s class.

CB Avieon Terrell is the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons stud corner A.J. Terrell and could be one of the top defensive backs in the 2026 NFL Draft. As is DL Peter Woods.

Louisville has its own talent in WR Chris Bell, who enters the weekend leading the ACC with six receiving scores.

BROWNS CB QUESTIONABLE

The Steelers play the Cincinnati Bengals this week in a key divisional matchup. They’re currently on top of the AFC North, but if they lose, the Baltimore Ravens could catch Pittsburgh. That hinges on the Ravens winning as well. They’re facing the other AFC North team in the Cleveland Browns. However, the Browns might be a little shorthanded in that game.

Around the NFL on Twitter shared that Browns corner Denzel Ward is questionable this week with an illness. He’s been one of their players. The Ravens already crushed the Browns once earlier this year. Cleveland could be in for another loss if they’re missing Ward.

SABAN SHOWS LOVE TO PITTSBURGH

The Steelers’ fanbase is full of celebrities. Pittsburgh has also produced plenty of great NFL players. That includes Hall of Famers such as Dan Marino, Darrelle Revis and Tony Dorsett. While some of them become part of new fandoms throughout their lives, the Steelers are still part of their history.

That includes former college and NFL head coach Nick Saban. Saban retired a few years ago, but he built a legendary career, most notably with the University of Alabama. However, Saban’s story started near Pittsburgh. Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, Saban spoke about his upbringing near Pittsburgh. He grew up in West Viriginia, but he was close to Pittsburgh, and he’s got plenty of fond memories there.
