Russell Westbrook joins LeBron James in NBA history books

Russell Westbrook was moved into the starting lineup for the Sacramento Kings on Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves and he made some NBA history in the contest. Westbrook joined Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James as just the second player ever to record over 25,000 points and 10,000 assists in his career.

This particular piece of history is a testament to the longevity of both guys. Both Westbrook and James have been extremely productive players for a very long time, and both players have always taken pride in getting their teammates involved, as well as putting up points.

Westbrook also became just the eighth player in NBA history to tally 10,000 career assists. The other seven are all legends: John Stockton, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, LeBron, Steve Nash, Mark Jackson and Magic Johnson.
