Chelsea will emerge from international break sitting third place in the Premier League - a notable achievement considering the turbulent nature of their early campaign. A mix of injuries, red card and several uninspired displays hampered their early momentum, but four victories in their last five league outings indicate they may finally be finding stability.

A dominant 3-0 win against Wolves, following a gritty 1-0 triumph over Tottenham, sent them into the break with substantial confidence - and with a number of their rivals for a top-four finish faltering, the Blues will feel optimistic about their prospects of holding onto a Champions League spot.

Liam Delap's recovery has also restored crucial attacking depth, while Cole Palmer is also edging nearer to full fitness - a boost welcomed by everyone connected to Chelsea. Their returns come at an ideal moment, with massive fixtures against Barcelona and Arsenal looming later this month.

With the January transfer window drawing closer, the club may already be weighing up potential moves. Chelsea have been linked with Real Madrid prospect Endrick - previously a Palmeiras team-mate of Blues starlet Estevao - as a possible attacking reinforcement.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are showing interest in Moises Caicedo, who has become increasingly essential to Enzo Maresca's team. With all that mind, here are the latest Chelsea-related headlines.

Endrick loan update

Chelsea are not expected to pursue Endrick in January, according to The Telegraph. The Brazilian youngster has found minutes hard to come by at the Bernabeu, making only a single appearance under Xabi Alonso so far.

He is expected to be made available for a loan move in January so he can secure consistent playing time, with Lyon reportedly at the front of the queue. Although Chelsea have been tentatively linked, they are not believed to be chasing the 19-year-old and any chatter about a switch to Stamford Bridge is regarded largely as speculation.

Endrick rose through Palmeiras' youth ranks with a stunning reputation, registering an astonishing 165 goals in 169 academy matches - figures that quickly caught the attention of top European clubs.

Real Madrid ultimately secured his signature in 2022, completing a deal worth up to a reported £53million. Chelsea were among the most eager rivals, keen to secure a player heralded as the next great Brazilian attacker and compared to icons such as Ronaldo, Romario and Pele.

After turning 18 in 2024, Endrick officially joined Real Madrid and while he showed early glimpses of his talent, his development overlapped with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. This often forced him into an unnatural wide position. He closed the 2024/25 campaign with seven goals from 37 outings - only one of those coming in La Liga.

Chelsea, in contrast, shifted their attention to Palmeiras' next rising star: Estevao. They completed a deal worth up to £50m for the winger last year and, like Endrick, he arrived shortly after turning 18 in 2025. So far, it appears Chelsea chose the right wonderkid.

Caicedo price tag

Moises Caicedo has emerged as a possible target for Real Madrid, but Chelsea hero Pat Nevin believes the Spanish side would need to table at least £200m before the Blues would even consider negotiations.

Caicedo has produced a series of outstanding showings this season, with the Ecuadorian staking a strong claim as the best defensive midfielder in world football at present. Interest from a powerhouse like Real Madrid is therefore understandable - but convincing Chelsea to relinquish their midfield dynamo would be extremely difficult.

Chelsea spent £115m to bring him in from Brighton in 2023 and the 24-year-old still has six years remaining on his contract, with an option for a seventh. Any transfer would involve an enormous fee. Considering Caicedo has arguably doubled in value since arriving, a departure currently seems highly improbable.

"Moises Caicedo is capable of playing in any team because he's more than a destructive player, he's an absolute genius defensively," Nevin told Casino Hawks. "Yes, he would interest Real Madrid, but I can't see the numbers working. I'm struggling to see the numbers working.

"Because if he's bought for £100m, or £115m depending on what you hear about the add-ons, how much is he going to have to spend to get him to give Chelsea a viable profit that they don't feel as if they've lost one of their best, if not their best, player?

"You're talking 200 odd million. Unless you're a forward scoring 30, 40 goals a season, that market, I'm not sure about. Even though Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo were both bought for over 100 million and I have to say, it shocked a lot of us, that amount of money spent in that position. But to go further than that, I don't know."
