88% passing, 63 touches, 1 assist: £22m United star dazzles on Int'l duty, may not start vs…

Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui delivered an impressive performance for Morocco during their 1-0 international friendly win over Mozambique on Friday night.

The 28-year-old has had a mixed start to the campaign with the Red Devils due to untimely injuries, but he appears to be picking up form.

Mazraoui was back in international action for Morocco yesterday. He played 82 minutes against Mozambique and provided the assist for Azzedine Ounahi’s early seventh-minute winner.

Aside from his goal contribution, the right-back had 63 touches in the game, completing 88 percent of his passes. He was comfortable in possession with just one recovery and one clearance.

The £22 million-rated star has played just over 200 minutes for the Red Devils this term. He started the recent draw against Tottenham Hotspur at right wing-back, but was substituted before the hour mark.

Benjamin Sesko’s introduction meant that Matheus Cunha dropped into the number 10 role alongside Bryan Mbeumo. Amad, who was playing higher up, slotted in at right wing-back.

Sesko unfortunately picked up a knee injury soon after. United’s next league game will be against Everton at Old Trafford. There is a possibility that Mazraoui may not start versus the Toffees.

If Sesko remains sidelined, we could see Cunha continue as the makeshift number nine. Mason Mount could feature as one of the attacking midfielders alongside the in-form Mbeumo.

Amad looks poised to be reinstated at right wing-back ahead of Mazraoui. Harry Maguire is another big injury doubt. His absence could see Leny Yoro return in the heart of the defence.
