Leeds United fan YouTube show launched to follow in footsteps of Inside Elland Road podcast

Inside Elland Road: Midfielders and leaders stepping up

The YEP's Leeds United coverage is growing with the addition of a second weekly YouTube show, putting fan opinions first.

Outside Elland Road is a chance for fans to have their say and debate all the hot topics around Leeds United, from transfers to game analysis and managerial performance.

It will be hosted weekly by Adam Gardener and co-host Matty Foster, with at least one other supporter joining the pair to give their opinions.

Gardener told the YEP: "I’m really excited to host the new show. Outside Elland Road will build on the success of the Inside version but bring you the fans’ perspective — the passion, the emotion, and the honesty that comes with supporting Leeds United.

"Every week it’ll be myself and my co-host Matty Foster, who’s at every home game and plenty of away days, joined by at least one other Leeds United fan giving their opinions on all things Leeds United. We want it to feel like you’re sat in the pub or wherever having a proper Leeds chat.

"I’ve been a Leeds fan since I was nine, when I first got into football properly — late, I know. Growing up in Hertfordshire, there weren’t many or possibly any Leeds fans about, but thankfully I picked them as my team after seeing Rod Wallace - my favourite ever Leeds player - score that halfway line goal against Spurs. I wanted to be different to all my mates, I just didn’t know what I was signing up for. Ups and downs, but hopefully more ups, please. Through my teens I went to every London away day — Charlton, Arsenal, everywhere — and I’ve seen some unbelievable Leeds teams and players, and just as many unbelievable sights in the stands.

“These days I get up to as many games as I can, which sadly is only a handful each season, but I never miss a match. Leeds United is my passion. I love talking Leeds and engaging with other fans, so it’s honestly an honour and a privilege to host this new show. We want to give fans another voice - to make great content, have a laugh, and create something that feels truly Leeds United, despite my accent."

Foster is already known to fans of Leeds United YouTube shows, having established his own Imagine Not Being Leeds channel. He told the YEP: "I'm a lifelong Leeds fan that has grown up a stone's throw from our sacred ground Elland Road. I’m a Leeds United member and get to 99 per cent of home games and the occasional away day too. I live, eat and breathe my club and I’ve passed that onto my children also. The hardships of life can often be a lot to handle and football and more importantly Leeds United is my escape and for a couple of hours we're united as one as we try to be that 12th man the team often needs. I think the Outside Elland Road Podcast will bring a new dynamic to the channel, giving the fan a voice."
