What Leeds United sources say about Daniel Farke's future with Brendan Rodgers position explained

Leeds United News can reveal the latest on the future of Daniel Farke at Elland Road, and how the availability of Brendan Rodgers may influence the club’s position.

Daniel Farke is under increasing pressure at Elland Road, with his side’s damaging defeat against Nottingham Forest only serving to ramp up the scrutiny on the Leeds boss.

Former Leeds defender Jon Newsome accused Farke of burying his head in the sand after the game, which saw Leeds slip closer to the Premier League relegation zone.

Leeds’ downturn in form coincides with two potential Farke replacements hitting the market, with Brendan Rodgers being linked to the club in the past.

Now, Leeds United News‘ Chief Correspondent has explained the club’s latest stance on Farke and whether Rodgers’ availability changes their position.

Leeds United’s view on Daniel Farke’s future

Speaking exclusively to Leeds United News, Bailey explained that, although the club are behind where the 49ers had hoped Leeds would be, they remain happy with Farke for the time being.

Although Leeds will not “pull the plug” on their manager due to the recent downturn in results, Rodgers’ availability could force the club to act if results do not improve in the near future.

Bailey said: “Leeds aren’t ready to pull the plug. From what I’m hearing, they’re now not where they’d hope to be, but they’re okay with where they are at the moment.

“It wasn’t a great performance at Forest, and the club are aware of that, but they’re not panicking.

“Of course, it piles the pressure on when you have a manager like Brendan Rodgers available. But nothing has changed, and nothing is imminent.”

Daniel Farke’s future could rest on Aston Villa game

Reports prior to the international break suggested that Daniel Farke could have just five games to save his Leeds career, one of which elapsed with the defeat against Nottingham Forest.

Although the 49ers do not want to rush into a decision on Farke, there are questions over how long they can afford to wait, with Leeds staring down the barrel of a difficult run of games.

Leeds’ best chance of claiming points is in their first game at Elland Road after the break, as they host an improving Aston Villa side.

With games against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool to follow, it is not inconceivable that Farke will have overseen a run of six consecutive defeats by that stage. Not many managers survive a run like that, no matter how patient their owners are.
