Everton are believed to be monitoring West Ham United midfielder James Ward-Prowse, whose stance on a move may already be known.

David Moyes will be keen to continue what was started in the summer in transforming his squad of players under the Friedkins.

Money was spent over the summer to bring in some quality players to Everton like Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Although not every need could be addressed, Moyes was left delighted with Everton’s transfer business.

Everton News understands that Everton will look to sign a new striker in January, but there are other areas that may also need adding to.

Ward-Prowse is a name being suggested as a potential target, and he has already spoken about playing under the 62-year-old.

Everton will lose Idrissa Gana Gueye to the Africa Cup of Nations over the coming weeks, which may stretch their midfield options.

But a reunion between Moyes and the former England midfielder could be something the 31-year-old may relish going off his past comments.

“I think he’s done an incredible job,” Ward-Prowse told BBC Sport during their time together at West Ham.

“All I can say from this season is that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with him.”

Everton News is aware that Everton would like to leave Harrison Armstrong out on loan for the remainder of the campaign at Preston North End.

Adding a player of this experience and quality could prove a smart move for the Blues if it is just on a short-term basis.

James Ward-Prowse’s record under David Moyes

Everton fans do want to see Merlin Rohl play more regular football under the 62-year-old after making his deadline day move.

However, the German is struggling to secure himself a spot in the starting XI, with Tim Iroegbunam chosen ahead of him against Fulham last time out.

Ward-Prowse is a midfielder who would be able to provide vast experience to the Everton midfield in the short absence of Gueye.

Moyes has been keen to re-sign Tomas Soucek over recent months following their time together at the London Stadium.

There is a clear, strong connection between the pair, with Moyes now able to offer Ward-Prowse an exit route out of West Ham.
