Panic over as Daniel Farke receives good news, but one Leeds United player might have mixed feelings (opinion)

The last thing Leeds need at the minute is for any key players to suffer injuries while on international duty.

Daniel Farke is on a dreadful run of four defeats in the last five Premier League outings, with many Leeds fans losing faith in the German – partly due to his lack of success at this level historically.

There was a further setback as Gabriel Gudmundsson missed training with Sweden on Thursday following a worrying concussion – although Fotbollskanalen have now provided an update.

Gabriel Gudmundsson is already back in training

The Swedish news outlet state that Gabriel Gudmundsson made a swift return to training with Sweden on Friday, which will come as a relief to Farke considering players are typically advised to rest for six days if the concussion is serious.

Graham Potter even called up Newcastle defender Emil Krafth after the Leeds No.3 suffered his knock to the head, suggesting there were initial fears it was quite serious.

While the news will please Farke given his lack of natural options at left-back, the rapid recovery might leave James Justin with mixed feelings.

James Justin might have sensed a chance was coming

Now, we are by no means suggesting the England international will be upset that a teammate is not set to spend a spell on the sidelines, although he may have been hopeful of a chance arriving as a result.

Gudmundsson has been excellent at left-back since his £10m arrival from Lille in July, limiting Justin to only 77 minutes of Premier League football as Jayden Bogle holds down the right-back spot too.

Justin is capable of playing in both positions, but despite his versatility, chances have been few and far between since his £10m move from Leicester in August.

Therefore, the man born in Luton might have been hopeful of getting a first Premier League start of the season after the international break following the injury to Gudmundsson, although that now looks unlikely to happen following his swift recovery.
