What Jack Grealish has told Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall about being in the spotlight at Everton

Everton star Jack Grealish has become the Hill Dickinson Stadium’s flagship star following his move from Manchester City in the summer – and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has revealed all on how the England star feels about being in the spotlight.

Jack Grealish is a household name for many in Europe, let alone in the UK – and although his stock has somewhat diminished after his lack of minutes at Manchester City, that has somewhat been revived at Everton following his summer loan move.

The attacker has become a star player at Everton and really found his feet once again in the Premier League, grabbing four assists and a goal for the Toffees in their debut season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

And Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has revealed that Grealish doesn’t mind being in the spotlight, as long as he’s playing well and delivering the goods.

Dewsbury-Hall says Jack Grealish doesn’t mind being the main star for Everton

Whilst the likes of Dewsbury-Hall, Iliman Ndiaye, James Garner and Jordan Pickford have proven to be big name players for Everton this season, Grealish is always going to be their ‘star man’ of sorts due to his stature in the game.

And the Everton midfielder says that Grealish doesn’t mind as such, given his ‘celebrity’ status both on and off the field.

Speaking on Everton’s YouTube channel, Dewsbury-Hall said: “Yeah, he’s a great lad. I’ve known Jack for a couple of years, as mutual friends and stuff.

“He’s obviously a fantastic player, everyone can see that, but he’s actually a really nice lad.

“He’s almost like a celebrity. He’s not just a football player, he’s a very famous person just from the way he is and stuff.

“I don’t mind it [Grealish taking the spotlight] at all. As long as I’m playing well and he’s playing well, and we’re both happy, I don’t mind who gets the limelight!

“He likes it, so I’ll let him continue to take it as much as he wants.”

If the two can continue working in tandem, it will prove to be a masterstroke by David Moyes.

Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have transformed Everton this season

Dewsbury-Hall signed for Everton just days after Grealish completed his move to the Toffees in early August, and it’s no surprise that Everton are just four points outside of the Champions League spots.

The Merseyside club have failed to sign strong creative talents in recent years, with Grealish’s brace of assists on his home debut already beating the combined tally of last season’s loan duo Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom, with just one between them.

Jesper Lindstrom 2024-25 1

Dewsbury-Hall has also offered talent going forward, and alongside Ndiaye, it’s a fairly formidable midfield three who have made Everton much more feared going forward.

Of course, the question remains over Grealish’s future and if he will remain at Everton – that much will become clearer towards the end of the season.

But Everton have all but paid off Grealish’s £15m loan fee already and if they do keep him, more recruitments across the pitch next season will be vital in terms of club progression.
