Everton hero Seamus Coleman starred for the Republic of Ireland on Thursday night and David Moyes has been sent a bold message by Heimir Hallgrimsson.
It was a successful evening for most of Everton’s international representatives, with Jordan Pickford also securing a win with England.
The standout result was Ireland’s victory over Portugal as Jake O’Brien enjoyed the last laugh over Cristiano Ronaldo in Dublin.
Everton News reported earlier this month that Everton will look to sign a new full-back in January after failing to make major improvements over the summer.
The Toffees have experienced some issues at right-back this season, but Coleman’s minutes have been extremely limited.
On the back of the showing against Portugal, Ireland manager Hallgrimsson has made one thing very clear to Moyes.

David Moyes sent Seamus Coleman message by Ireland manager
Ireland fans were delighted with Coleman’s performance against Portugal as Ireland stunned Ronaldo and his men.
The 37-year-old just continues to impress despite not playing regularly under his 62-year-old manager on Merseyside.

Speaking after the game, Hallgrimsson admitted he cannot believe the Ireland international does not play at Everton.
“It’s unbelievable that this guy can play 90 minutes at this level so well. And what amazes me is that he doesn’t get minutes at Everton, that is what amazes me more,” said Hallgrimsson.
“But hopefully this game will show everyone how qualified he is.”
Even the opposing Portugal manager, Roberto Martinez, waxed lyrical about Coleman and praised him for what he brings to any side.
With a big game against Manchester United up next for Everton, Moyes is certainly being left with an interesting decision to make at right-back.
Seamus Coleman defied his age in Portugal display
Earlier in the year, Moyes was desperate to keep Coleman at Everton ahead of the move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Clearly, that role was more as a voice behind the scenes, but Coleman is showing the quality to make a push for the starting XI.
Moyes wants more out of his full-backs, with Jake O’Brien not exactly impressing on the right side.
Coleman’s display against Portugal must have given Moyes food for thought over this international break.
90 minutes played
1/1 accurate crosses
1/1 successful dribbles
2/2 successful tackles
5 interceptions
4 recoveries
James Tarkowski thinks Coleman will become a manager one day having shown his incredible leadership skills on Merseyside.
But the 37-year-old still has plenty of minutes in him to make an impact on the pitch before he may potentially take a spot in the dugout.
