Daniel Farke is under pressure at Leeds.
Fans wanted Farke sacked after the 3-0 defeat against Brighton, especially irked by his lack of tactical proactivity as opposition managers continue to make the first move and often outwit the German.
The 3-1 loss at Nottingham Forest which followed marked a fourth defeat in five Premier League games for Leeds.
With time of the essence in this division, some supporters are concerned that Daniel Farke remains in charge amid a daunting fixture list including Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool in the next four outings – but a comment from Paraag Marathe in July 2023 explains why he is yet to be dismissed.
Paraag Marathe keen to give Daniel Farke the time he never got at Norwich
In his last taste of Premier League football, Farke was dismissed after just 11 games with Norwich sitting bottom on five points early on in the 2021/22 campaign.
Marathe felt that was harsh, saying in July 2023 upon hiring the 49-year-old: “I don’t think he had a fair stack of cards when he was in the Premier League.
“We’re going to give him the deck of cards. I think he could be a very successful coach across Europe. This isn’t just: ‘Hey get us through the Championship.’”

Those comments clearly explain why Marathe is yet to pull the trigger, despite growing unrest within the Leeds fanbase.
Another potential reason is the fact Leeds would have to pay Farke a year’s salary as compensation, which is currently difficult to do with the Whites at their limit in terms of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Daniel Farke did have one full season of Premier League football and it does little to inspire confidence
Norwich did actually give Farke an entire Premier League season to prove himself at this level in the 2019/20 campaign, and it ended miserably.
The Canaries finished rock bottom with just 21 points – 13 fewer than Watford who finished 19th.
Norwich only scored 26 times in 38 games that term while conceding a league-high 75 goals, winning only five games.
We admire the fact Marathe wants to let Farke prove himself in the Premier League, but no manager is bigger than the club.
