With Leeds United sat outside the Premier League's relegation zone and on course to meet the minimum one point per game average Daniel Farke has set for the campaign, few if anyone expected the club's owners to part ways with the manager during this international break.
Farke, for now, still has the backing and belief of 49ers Enterprises that he can keep the Whites in the top flight this season. That backing remains firm, for now, but as everyone knows things can quickly change in football when results don't go your way.
And therein lies the big test for the Leeds boss. Leeds return from the international break with a home game against Aston Villa. They then face Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool in the next three games, handing Farke's team an incredibly tough test once the league resumes.
Failure to pick up any points from those four games will surely see that boardroom confidence questioned, even if it is an horrendous run of games which Leeds are not expected to take a lot of points from. Likewise, the potential of a win over Villa and a draw against one of the Champions League big guns could be the endorsement of their backing which the board need.
While it could go either way in the coming weeks, new data that has been published by FootballBlog.co.uk says that Farke's chances of remaining as Leeds boss for the rest of the season are less than 50%. The German is favourite with all the bookmakers to be the next manager to go, but now a new table suggests that his chances of staying on are less than 50 percent.
Farke, who has been in charge since July 2023, has only a 48 percent chance of keeping his job, 10 percent worse than the next manager on the list, Scott Parker (58 percent).
New Wolves manager Rob Edwards has just a 61percent chance of still being at the club at the end of the season, with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta the most secure with a 95 percent rating.
